There’s something magical about a barn wedding. The rustic and natural beauty creates the perfect setting to celebrate your love story. Across the UK, we’re spoilt for choice when it comes to stunning barn venues, each with its own unique character.

So, in this blog, I’m sharing three of my favourite barn wedding venues across the UK, as a wedding photographer.

Barn Wedding Venues Across the UK

      Cripps Barn

Cripps Barn, located in the heart of the Cotswolds, is a really special barn wedding venue full of history and character.

This 18th-century barn, in the Coln Valley, is the original venue from the Cripps & Co family. Its rustic charm is undeniable, with flagstone floors, exposed beams, and a grand stone fireplace that makes for a breathtaking focal point during your ceremony.

The main barn offers a cosy, romantic setting for your vows, with its hand-forged greenery wheel and glowing fireplace.

For those dreaming of an outdoor ceremony, the Oak Pavilion in the gardens is a peaceful and enchanting spot, perfect for couples looking for a woodland-inspired backdrop.

The surrounding grounds are just as beautiful, with rolling fields, fire pits, and a spacious terrace that creates a stunning setting for your drinks reception and those all-important wedding photographs.

Dining at this Cotswolds wedding venue is a feast for the senses. Their chefs are passionate about serving hearty, delicious wedding meals, from sharing platters to three-course menus.

And once the dining is done, the barn transforms into a lively dance floor, complete with a late-night licence until 1 am, so you can party the night away!

If you’re looking for nearby accommodation, you’re spoiled for choice. The Stump, just 10 minutes away, offers cosy rooms in a relaxed inn setting.

Or, for something a little more refined, The New Inn in Coln St Aldwyns is just a short 15-minute drive. With its stylish rooms and gorgeous dining options, it’s the perfect spot for you and your guests to stay.

      Folly Farm

Hidden in the Somerset countryside, just 10 miles from Bristol and Bath, Folly Farm is a unique barn wedding venue set within a 250-acre nature reserve.

This eco-friendly venue is lovingly maintained by Avon Wildlife Trust, with all profits supporting local wildlife conservation efforts. A wedding here isn’t just beautiful, it’s meaningful too.

Folly Farm offers a variety of ceremony spaces to suit every couple’s style. Indoors, the converted oak-beamed barn and charming Old Dairy is rustic, while the glass atrium is bright, airy, and full of natural light.

For an outdoor ceremony, you can exchange vows overlooking the picturesque Chew Valley Lake or in the orchard surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature.

Every season brings its own charm to Folly Farm. Spring weddings are filled with bluebells, summer offers colourful wildflower meadows, autumn is rich with golden hues, and winter provides dramatic skies and cosy indoor settings.

Accommodation at Folly Farm is perfect for hosting your guests. With 20 farmhouse-style bedrooms accommodating up to 56 guests, plus options for camping in the warmer months.

The spacious bridal suite offers a romantic retreat for your first night as a married couple, while bell tents add a touch of glamping glamour!

Folly Farm offers exclusive use of the entire venue, allowing you to create a completely private celebration tailored to you. Couples are even welcome to arrive the day before to decorate and add their personal touches, followed by a relaxed pre-wedding meal.

The on-site caterers specialise in fresh, seasonal food, often sourced directly from the kitchen garden. Whether you’re dreaming of a formal three-course meal, a casual hog roast, or sharing platters for your guests, the catering team will help bring your vision to life.

      Wild Thyme & Honey

If you’re dreaming of a barn wedding venue that feels effortlessly luxurious yet warm and welcoming, Wild Thyme & Honey in the Cotswolds might just be the one for you.

Located in the quaint village of Ampney Crucis, just outside Cirencester, Wild Thyme & Honey sits alongside a peaceful brook, providing a lovely setting for your celebration.

The venue boasts three beautifully designed event spaces, each with its own character. The Wild Thyme & Honey Event Suite is ideal for larger celebrations, accommodating up to 100 guests for the ceremony and 140 for the reception.

For a more intimate wedding, the Secret Garden Room is perfect, offering a cosy space for up to 24 guests.

And for drinks receptions, the romantic Courtyard, complete with real fires, candles, and blankets, sets the scene for a warm and inviting atmosphere.

One of the highlights of this barn wedding venue is its exceptional accommodation. With 24 boutique bedrooms and suites, your guests will enjoy the height of comfort and luxury.

For the newlyweds, the exclusive honeymoon suite, No. 3 London Road, is something special. With its hand-made four-poster bed, private patio with a sauna and jacuzzi, and stunning views over the river, it’s the ultimate retreat after a day of celebrations.

And for dog lovers, this venue has another treat in store…it’s dog-friendly! Your furry best friend can join in the fun, with comfy beds, treats, and even paw-friendly soaps provided.

Wild Thyme & Honey also offers bespoke wedding packages to suit your needs.

There’s even a cosy country pub, The Crown at Ampney Brook, right next door – perfect for a pre-wedding get-together or a relaxed post-celebration brunch.
